Crop Video Online

Reframe the shot — square for a feed, vertical for a story, or any ratio you drag.

Cropping is usually about the platform, not the picture: a landscape recording that has to become a 9:16 vertical, or a 1:1 square that fits a feed without letterboxing.

Pick a ratio, drag the frame over the part of the shot that matters, and the export comes out at the cropped size — not the original with bars added.

Crop ratios for each platform

9:16 is the vertical shape used by Stories, Reels and Shorts. 1:1 is the square that still works well in most feeds. 4:5 is the taller portrait crop that takes more feed height without going fully vertical. 16:9 is standard widescreen, and Free lets you drag any shape.

The crop is applied in the clip's own display space, so it follows rotation — rotate first, then crop, and the box stays where you put it.

Crop versus resize

Cropping changes which part of the frame you keep and therefore its shape. Resizing changes how many pixels the export has. They are separate controls, and you can use both: crop to vertical, then export at 1080p.

Frequently asked questions

How do I crop a video online?

Add the video, select the clip, open Crop frame, pick a ratio and drag the box over the part you want to keep. Apply it and export.

Can I crop a landscape video to vertical?

Yes. Choose the 9:16 preset and drag the crop box across the frame to choose what stays in shot.

Does cropping reduce quality?

Cropping keeps the original pixels of the area you kept, so there is no upscaling. The export is re-encoded, and you can choose the quality setting.
